Beginnings

As Ryan and I have begun to meet more and more adoptive parents, we've realized, and basically been commanded, that we need to find a way for others to follow our adoption.  So in order to appease the masses, and to help our friends and family know what is happening in this ridiculously insane journey, we've started a blog.  More like "I've started a blog," as its highly doubtful that Ryan will ever post anything since he dislikes writing so much.  I chose to name it "The Cookoo's Nest" since the majority of you probably think that that is where I live as of this moment.

For those of you who are wondering what in the heck I am talking about:
1. No, we are not adopting a dog
2. Yes, we are adopting an actual human being
3. No, we haven't lost our minds.

I'm going to attempt, in the next couple of posts, to explain why we want to adopt and how we got to this point.  Until then, I will let you know where we are right now.

On December 13, 2010 we were accepted into Nightlight Christian Adoption's domestic adoption program (or as Ryan loving calls it "Nightlife").  We've already filled out a ton of paperwork ranging from financial statements to faith statements to what kind of baby we want to adopt.  As of this moment, we are a bit overwhelmed with the enormity of the process.  This should be prayer request #1.
